       如何用英语与老板沟通
       1．表示了解上司的指示
       Yes，of course．(是，我知道了)
       也可用I understand(我明白了)，或Yes，rightaway(好的，马上去做)。对上司说OK或all right并不恰当。很忙时，说I’m sorry，I’m busy now．Could Ido it later?
       2．确认上司指示的内容
       You did say next Tuesday at 2：00 p．m．，didn’tyou?(您是说在下星期二下午2点，是不是?)
       任何事都必须确认一下。如果对方是外国人更要如此。上句也可直截了当地说Let me confirm(让我确认一下时间和日期)。
       3．报告商谈结果
       I had a feeling he was in favor of the plan．(我觉得他赞成那个计划)
       记住I have a feeling(that)…(我觉得……)，及…(that)he was against the plan．(他反对那个计划)这两句话都很管用。
       4．提议
       I think we need to buy a new copier．(我想我们需要买一台新的复印机)
       说出上句之前，必须说明our copying machine hasbroken down again．(复印机又出毛病了)以作为提案的依据。客气一些的提议，用suggest，如I would sug—gest we buy a new copier．
       5．申请许可
       Would it be possible for me to take the day offthis Friday?
       (这个星期五，我是否可以休一天假?)
       请求休假用take the day off。如果是两天以上就用days off。老板会很干脆地答应说That’ll be OK，或是会带有不悦意味回答Will everything be all right?(一切都安排就绪了吗?)，这些都要看你平时的工作表现而定。

       英美人的祝酒词

       每逢佳节聚会，英美人常欢聚一堂，频频举杯，开怀畅饮，“干杯!”、“为……干杯!”之声不绝于耳。那么英美人是如何表示的呢?
       一、用Here’s to…表示：
       1．Here’s to your health／success为你的健康／成功干杯!
       2．Here’s to our friendship!为我们的友谊干杯!
       3．Here’s to Tom for his new job!为汤姆的新工作干杯!
       二、用health，luck等表示：Good health!或Goodluck!或All the beet!例如：
       1．Your health，John!May you have a suc-cessful time in Manchester!为了你的健康，约翰，也祝你在曼彻斯特前程似锦!
       2 Helen raised her glass，“Good luck to you!”she said．海伦举起酒杯，说道：“祝你好运!”
       三、主人或主持人邀客人喝酒时，通常用Cheers1或Do the honors!例如：
       1．He raised his glass，“May you success!Cheers!”他举起酒杯说：“祝你成功，干杯!”
       2．Pat，you do the honors and propose thetoast．帕特，你敬酒吧。
       四、在比较随便的场合，通常用Here’s how!还有Happy landing!(美俚，原为空军用语)等。例如：
       Oh，come，come，David.Here’s how!噢，来呀，来呀，大卫，干杯!
       五、在比较正式的场合，英美人有时也用一些外来语。例如：
       Prosit!(来源于拉丁语，意为May it do good!To your health／Good luck!etc．)
       六、在陈述句中，英美语通常用toast，round,drink to，drink a toast for／to，propose a toastfor等词表示。例如：
       1.Friends，I’ll give you a toast——to ourpresident!朋友们，我给大家敬酒，为我们总统干杯!
       2.I now propose a toast to the friendship betweenour two people——to our friendship.现在，我提议为我们两国人民的友谊干杯!
